DARLOW OR DUBRAVKA: Newcastle’s goalkeeping dilemma
Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has a goalkeeping decision to make.
Karl Darlow had been deputising for the injured Martin Dubravka but seemingly took over the role for himself.
Having featured in all 24 of the Magpies' Premier League games so far, Dubravka's return to the starting XI isn't a certainty.
Dubravka has only played in one FA Cup tie for Newcastle this season - a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal after extra time.
Last season though, Dubravka was ever-present for Newcastle in the league and kept 11 clean sheets during the campaign.
He's been on the bench since the draw with Liverpool in late December.
Bruce confirmed that Darlow would remain as number one after that game, but the debate has begun.
Darlow or Dubravka - stick or twist?
On this week's Behind the Leazes podcast (full episode available here), Liam Brusby, Rob Roobenstein and Adam Pearson had their say.
"For me, I was pretty much for the Dubravka should come back as soon as he's fit scenario," Rob said.
"I understand why (it hasn't happened). When Dubravka came back, Darlow had been so good at that point that it would have been unfair to take him out."
Rob added: "If Dubravka was out for the whole season and Darlow played the way he had, I wouldn't be unhappy with him as goalkeeper.
"But I do think Dubravka is the better player."
Other bigger issues
Make no mistake - Newcastle's poor form has seen them drop down the table to the point where relegation is viable.
They're 17th in the table and just six points from safety at the time of writing.
So this isn't Steve Bruce's biggest decision to make by any stretch of the imagination.
"We have got some many other bigger issues that Darlow or Dubravka. It's not in the forefront of my mind," Rob continued.
"There's like 10 other things or 10 other positions we can probably change before that one!"
