BACK IN CONTENTION: Wolves’ win against Leeds improves European hopes
A fortunate Adama Traore goal gave Wolverhampton Wanderers a 1-0 win against Leeds United.
The Spaniard cut inside from the left-wing and drilled an effort towards Illan Meslier in the Leeds goal.
Meslier couldn't reach the initial strike but was unfortunate to see the ball cannon off the bar, onto his back and into the net.
Leeds' stopper had made good saves from distance, including one to prevent Pedro Neto from scoring from outside the box.
The win moves Nuno Espirito Santo's team up to 11th in the table and a late surge towards European football could be on the cards.
Seven points currently separate them from sixth-place Liverpool which is not an unrealistic target.
With nothing else to play for, Nuno's side may put together a decent run of form to climb the table.
Defining run of fixtures
For that to happen, Wolves need some big performances in a tough run of upcoming games,
Up next is a trip to struggling Newcastle United, before they travel to champions-elect Manchester City.
Then, they face Aston Villa, Liverpool and West Ham - teams all above them in the league.
It'll be time to properly reassess European dreams at that stage, but it's all to play for right now.
