NEWS ROUNDUP: Celebrating women’s day & post lockdown prep

 
Hartlepool will host the world-famous Tall Ships in the summer of 2023. 
 
Thousands flocked to the town when the vessels last visited in 2010. Councillor Shane Moore, Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council, said: to host the Tall Ships again will be a huge honour.
 
Women’s Day 
 
An inspirational student at Teesside University will be sharing her story of overcoming adversity on International Women's Day. Monique Wild will be sharing her experiences of a traumatic childhood as part of the University's virtual women's day event on Monday in the hopes of motivating women across the region.
 
Post lockdown prep
 
North Tyneside council is bracing for an influx of visitors once lockdown begins to ease. Working with community groups and the police, there will be patrols at beauty spots to ensure the safety of visitors, with new bin stores and volunteer ambassadors supporting the council with litter-picking and public awareness
