Two fresh artists celebrate International Women's Day with online exhibition available to explore from 5:30pm on Monday 8th March!

Bettie Hope and Paige Livingstone will be joining force to takeover Pineapple Black this March as they pay honour to female identifying, working class artists through their collaborative curatorial debut, 'Let Us Eat Cake'.

The takeovers will span both Pineapple Black’s IRL exhibition space and their newly launched virtual gallery, PBVArts.

The exhibitions run for 4 weeks and will include work from local, national and international female identifying artists of a working-class background, alongside a sister exhibition which will highlight the next generation of young, emerging talent from the region.

Bettie Hope said:“ We are excited to introduce and showcase some fantastic female creatives fromthe North East and beyond. There’s a wonderful momentum up here and we aim to show the North for what it truly is.. a powerhouse full of creatives!”

“Growing up working class and being female in one of the most deprived areas in the UK will, if nothing else toughen you up and sharpen your wit, and that's something that I see reflected a lot in my own work and also the work of my favourite local artists.

Paige Livingstone said: "We are so excited to give creative people a platform to not only get their voice heard, but shout it out from the top of their lungs”
