Joe McElderry hits the Tyne Theatre & Opera House stage on the 5th July. He will perform a number of songs to say thank you to the NHS workers & all those who helped in the fight against Covid-19.
Joe will be joined by several other national stars and local creatives: line up to be revealed soon!
Tyne Theatre & Opera House said: "It’s a pleasure to be able to host this live streamed show in the North East, and we’ll be joined by several well-known local and national stars across our live programme and through pre-recorded messages. We can’t wait to share this great night of entertainment, filled with good humour and music performed on the Tyne Theatre stage.
"As well as an online audience, we hope to be able to welcome an in person audience of NHS Foundation Trust, North East Ambulance Service, Great North Air Ambulance Service and the Northumbria Blood Bikes key workers and families, who will be invited as a small token of our appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
"We also hope to be able to bring a few guests onto the stage, to have a small part during the event".
Joe McElderry said: "“I’ve got family members who are nurses and before I became a singer I was fascinated by medicine and wanted to be a paramedic
"The NHS is free at the point of access and we are all very lucky to have that. Now more than ever we realise what a savour it is and that’s one of the reasons why I want to say thank you to every front-line worker for their hard work".
Tickets are free but donations are encouraged,
A streaming link will be added to the Tyne Theatre website closer to the date.
