NEWS ROUNDUP: Coronavirus update & teaching children about railway safety
304 new cases of coronavirus were reported across the North East and North Yorkshire on Tuesday.
County Durham has seen the highest increase of cases with 52, with Middlesbrough seeing the smallest increase with 9.
Parents in the region have been urged to educate their children on rail safety. New data has revealed that trespass incidents along the East Coast route increased by 138% after lockdown was eased last summer. The numbers increased most sharply in the under 18s age group.
