GATESHEAD ELECTION: Full list of candidates

The full list of candidates standing at this year’s local elections in Gateshead has been released.

There are 24 council seats up for grabs, with two seats being contested in Birtley and Lamesley, when voters go to the polls on Thursday, May 6.

The current political make-up of the council is: 54 seats for Labour, 10 Lib Dems, and two independents.
