COVID AND FLU: Media medics team up to spread the word about getting vaccinated against flu and COVID-19
TV doctors have teamed up in a new NHS film to encourage those edible to get their covid-19 booster and flu jab ahead of the winter months.
As the COVID-nineteen booster jab scheme gets into full swing - the government has now launched its biggest ever flu vaccination campaign ahead of the challenging winter months. But who is eligible for the two jabs? When are we advised to get vaccinated? And why do we need them? Broadcaster and General Practitioner Doctor Sarah Jarvis explains.
This is the brand new video launched this week that brings some of the UK's leading media medics together to provide more information about protecting against deadly viruses. This year, we're not just thinking about covid though - experts are advising getting protected against flu as well.
Those eligible for the jabs include the over fifties, those with underlying health conditions, pregnant women, frontline healthcare staff, and even young children.
A recent survey by the NHS found many people underestimate the impact of flu - even without the added threat of covid to go along with it.
And thats why experts like Sarah are encouraging everyone get BOTH as one or the other wont protect against both.
