The North East Dog Festival is returning for 2021!
If you've ever wondered what a field full of thousands of dogs having just the best time looked like , well wonder no more. The North East Dog Festival is back for it's fourth year, spanning the full weekend for the first time starting on the fourth of September. Directors Rebecca and Dawn started the festival to give owners and their four legged friends the opportunity to try their hand at different activities and learn more about their canine companions.
After having to cancel their 2020 event amidst the coronavirus pandemic, Rebecca said she can't wait to bring together dog lovers from across the region once again. As well as this, dog charities, trainers and experts will all be on hand to lend a helping paw with any problems you might be having with your pooch.
As things stand summer events
, and especially outdoor ones are set to go ahead despite concerns around the various new strains of coronavirus. But when inviting thousands of people to one place, Rebecca hasn't let COVID go without a second thought, and is approaching with cautious optimism.
Over the weekend dogs will be able to try their paw at everything from whippet racing to gundog scurries and even hoopers. There is also the chance to win prizes in games like Fastest Recall and Temptation Alley. The main ring will welcome crowd favourites like flyball and sheep herding whilst the wellness tent will welcome expert speakers on topics ranging from dog behaviour to dog nutrition, offering visitors the opportunity to gain knowledge in a number of subjects.
