DISASTROUS: Eddie Jones’ England end 2021 Six Nations with defeat to Ireland
Eddie Jones' job as England coach may be under threat after a poor defence of their Six Nations title which ended with a 32-18 defeat to Ireland in Dublin.
The defending champions sunk to just two wins in 2021 and will finish fifth in the final table - only Italy below them without any points at all.
England were beaten by all of the home nations including this one to Ireland in their final game of the 2021 tournament.
A meeting will be held between Jones and the RFU in the wake of the tournament and it is possible Jones could leave his role.
Ireland were the deserved winners in both side's final match-up of this year's Six Nations.
England need to "reset" - Eddie Jones after Six Nations defeat to Ireland
Never have England conceded as many points as they did in the tournament - a whopping 121 against Jones' team in this Six Nations.
The England coach said his team need to reset as they look to put this dreadful showing behind them, with Jones saying England are in a transition period.
"It has been a tough one," he said referring to this Six Nations campaign. "We haven't been at our best but we finished the tournament a lot better than we started.
"We need to reset the team and we will continue with that process."
"We're going through a transition period in the team. This is almost a natural time for that to happen with two years before the World Cup."
