GOLDEN BOOT: Salah top scorer race all Liverpool have left to play for
Mohamed Salah's chase for the Golden Boot is all Liverpool have left to play for against Southampton with Champions League football unlikely.
The Reds are seven points off fourth with a game in hand and even being perfect won't be enough if results don't go their way.
Last week's game with Manchester United was postponed after fans protested against their ownership.
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last six home league games against Southampton. However, the Saints can do a league double over the Reds with a win.
Southampton haven't beaten Liverpool twice in the league in one season since 2003-04.
Salah and the Golden Boot
Salah currently has 20 league goals for Liverpool - one behind Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot.
There's five league games left for Liverpool man Salah to win his third Golden Boot.
Bruno Fernandes and Son Heung-min are four goals behind the Egyptian.
Where has it gone wrong for Liverpool this season?
The Reds are about to lose their status as Premier League champions after a dreadful second half to the campaign saw them slip away.
Where does Jürgen Klopp think it went wrong for his side?
"Oh, that’s easy for us: we had too many injuries in key positions," Klopp said.
"I know people think that’s an excuse, but I’m pretty sure I said it already – it’s like in the moment when we lost our full defence it felt like you break your leg.
"That’s OK, you can still limp with that. But then we had to make our midfielders, to transform them, into defenders.
"Then we broke pretty much our spine on top of that and then it’s difficult to move.
"You remember, in the beginning when we had the problems we were still kind of winning, were in kind of a good position.
"But we always knew it is a long season to come and if anything else happens then we will struggle.
"To deal with the amount of injuries was the challenge and we obviously couldn’t deal as good as we wanted over the whole season."
