HONOURS EVEN: Black Country Derby ends in a draw

West Bromwich Albion's time in the Premier League looks to be approaching an end after a 1-1 draw with rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, it looks like they'll be going down without suffering defeat in a Black Country derby after this draw on their return to the top tier.

Sam Allardyce's side won at Molineux in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

Fabio Silva had given the visitors the lead on the stroke of half-time in fortunate circumstances.

The Wolves forward caught a deflection off West Brom's Kyle Bartley as he attempted to clear the danger.

The Baggies 'keeper, Sam Johnstone, was helpless as the ball looped over him into the net.

Mbaye Diagne would go on to pull the home side level in the second half.

A whipped in cross found the forward inside the area who headed in to make it all level.

We need a miracle - Allardyce

The West Brom boss has basically accepted the team's fate as they prepare for relegation.

In order to survive, they'll need to win all four of their remaining games.

However, that's not all. They'll also need the teams above them to lose every game for the rest of the season as well.

It's something which Allardyce doesn't see happening, but says his side will remain profesional.

"We owe it to everyone to keep a professional attitude and go out and try to win every game we've got left and hope every team above us loses every game and then, by some magic miracle and some fairy dust, we stay up," he told the press post-match.

"I can't believe we haven't won or taken the chances we created. I'm very sad for the players they haven't converted this game into a victory.

"You look at Wolves' goal and say 'why can't we get a bit of luck like that?'"

Wolves "better" in draw with West Brom - Espirito Santo

Nuno Espirito Santo praised his side's performance despite the draw.

"Better," he responded when asked what his thoughts were on the game.

"I think we improved from the last game. Not a perfect performance but better.

"Offensively we created a lot more. More combinations, chances. A lot of things have improved."

A Black Country Derby draw is the last result between these two until they meet again.

Whether that's West Brom returning to the Premier League or Wolves dropping to the Championship, who knows?
