GEORGE SEGAL: Hollywood Actor dies aged 87
Goldbergs star and Oscar nominated actor George Segal sadly dies at age 87.
His wife, Sonia Segal confirmed the news. “The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery,” she said in a statement.
George Segal's credits ranged from NBC's 'Just Shoot me!', 'Where's Poppa' and for the past 8 years he played 'Pops' on ABCs 80s-set comedy 'The Goldbergs'.
In 1966 Segal was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor in the black comedy drama 'Who's Afraid of Virginia woolf?'
Today, he was described by his co-stars as a "legend"
Actress Wendi Mclendon-Covey paid tribute to Segal with a photo and a comment saying: "grateful".
Tributes were payed across social media describing him as "a kid at heart with a magical spark".
